The Dawn Renewal Project
The Dawn Renewal Project is our ongoing effort to restore and revitalize The Dawn Institute’s infrastructure and land following the devastating impacts of the Dixie Fire. Thanks to the generous support of our partners and community, we have made significant progress in rebuilding and preparing for a vibrant future.
Completed rehabilitation efforts include:
Installation of a new septic system and leach field
Perimeter deer fencing
Site grading and brush removal
Ongoing orchard care and maintenance
Current work is underway at our orchard properties on Highway 89 and Indian Falls Road, generously sponsored by the Dixie Fire Collaborative (DFC) through North Valley Community Foundation (NVCF). Additionally, a new equipment shed has been added with the support of the Feather River Community Foundation (FRCF).
This foundational work sets the stage for the return of our educational programs, community activities, and sustainable land stewardship practices in the seasons ahead.
